It’s hard to believe that a year has passed since we embarked on this incredible journey with Cabarete Surf Company. With immense gratitude and stoke, we will celebrate our first anniversary on November 28th. You are all invited to join us at our surf shack at Playa Encuentro, where the talented musician Emiliano and his band will play for us at sunset from 4 to 7 pm.

Let’s just say that this past year has been a journey full of excitement, learning about the surfing business, and meeting incredible people who came to surf with us from around the world.
Our Beginnings
Every success story has its roots, and ours began in the ocean in 2019 when Elizabeth, a Canadian native and co-owner of Cabarete Surf Company, was surfing alone at Bobo’s point. Victor, a Dominican native and an independent surf instructor at the time, swam next to her and asked her to go out. The rest is history…
In 2022, they welcomed their son Victorio into their lives, and the idea of building a business for the family came about. At the end of 2022, we were fortunate enough to get the opportunity to rent a small piece of land at Playa Encuentro and start imagining our dream surf school.
We wanted a welcoming place where all surfers could hang out after their surf sessions, a place that feels like home. We are thankful to our employees who helped us achieve that, to all our partners who have helped us make our dream come true, and certainly forever grateful to all our customers who chose to surf with us over the year.
We hope our adventure with Cabarete Surf Company is just the beginning of a long journey of sharing our passion for the ocean with you. The waves may change, the tides may have highs and lows, but one thing will remain constant: our dedication to safe, memorable, and transformative surf experiences.
