A Family-Owned Surf School
Victor is a certified ISA surf instructor from Cabarete. Elizabeth is a flight attendant and writer from Quebec, Canada.
They met in the ocean while surfing. From their love, a future little surfer was born: Victorio.
Together they started Cabarete Surf Company to share their passion with you. Our goal isn’t just to make sure you have a good time in the ocean, but to teach you well — so you’ll be able to surf anywhere in the world.
Playa Encuentro offers waves all year round, so it’s a great place to learn at any time of year. If you’re visiting Cabarete, Sosúa, or Puerto Plata, your trip isn’t complete without stopping by Playa Encuentro for a lesson with Victor and his team!

We’re right on Playa Encuentro, the beach just east of Cabarete town — look for our surf school on the sand, a few steps from the waves.
- From Puerto Plata Airport (POP): ~25 min by taxi
- From Cabarete town center: 10–15 min by taxi or moto
- From Sosúa: ~15 min
- From Santiago Airport (STI): ~1.5 hr by car
